Is one album enough?

bamos [Edit] [Delete] 17:23, 25 July '06

Apropos of a discussion elsewhere, I was thinking about the fact that with certain bands, even if I love one particular album, I often just stop with that album, buying nothing else by them.

Why is this? Surely if I love one album, I will at least like others? Why do I not even bother trying them? Does anyone else do this? Is it weird? Or do people systematically hunt down all the stuff by a band they really like one album by?

Examples for me:

QOTSA - love Rated R to bits, never even thought about getting anything else.

Gomez - first album AMAZING, actually bought the next two but have still, to this day, never listened to them. I can't tell you why.

and possibly some more, but it's really hot and I can't be arsed to think anymore.
