The difference between

wrightylew [Edit] [Delete] 14:12, 9 August '06

quality music and throwaway plastic wank, is when in the media, a band's image is referred to in the introducing sentence.

For example:

"Meet the big-haired, squid-flinging, art-school ghouls, The Horrors..."

Howling Bells are a superb band. You will struggle to find an article on them which mentions their image in the primary sentence (or even throughout the article).

I could never be in a band like the Horrors, because, you know for sure, that when the trends pass on, you will be left behind. The Horrors' fan base is comprised entirely of people who think they are 'cool'. These are people who enjoy music for its reputation, not for its quality. When its uncool to like the Horrors, their fans will not like the Horrors.

I've also added the Horrors on MySpace. I'm going to see if they respond to what I have to say to them.
