Nina Nastasia Signs With FatCat For New LP, Ultra Rare Fall Tour Planned

Nina Nastasia could be considered somewhat of a recluse. She's only recorded a handful of LPs (one of which is a remaster of an older LP but remastered and re-released because its fucking incredible) and hardly tends to tour much outside of NYC and in and around Europe. This element of reclusiveness only adds to Nastasia's dynamic performances when she records a new LP or tours. She's the favorite artist you know nearly nothing about, but you can't escape her charm and grace and the wonderful things she can do with her voice, a guitar, and a few friends.

Nastasia recently signed with FatCat Records to release her first LP since 2003's Run To Ruin (Touch and Go). In a recent press release, Nastasia insists that a sense of change prompted her move from Touch and Go, her home since 2002. On Leaving was once again recorded by long-time associate Steve Albini and will feature Dylan Willesma, Jay Bellerose, Steven Beck, and Jim White. Nastasia has planned a 22-city strong tour for the new LP, set to begin September 6 in NYC.

On Leaving is due September 18.
