Changing musical tastes

tobythecat [Edit] [Delete] 20:22, 21 August '06

I was just browsing around the site and stumbled upon the DiS Staff's Top 75 albums of 2003.

Its interesting how a lot of albums most people on here would regard as 'classics' are quite far down the list, whereas a lot of albums most people would regard as either a passing fad or a load of shite (see The Darkness, ranked no 2) are really high up.

So while the darkness is in at 2, and 'room on fire' comes in at 21, 'the new romance' is at 32, while 'Rounds' is lingering at a measly 56th.

Curious how some albums withstand the test of time (even only 2 1/2 years!!), while others are quickly forgotten or dismissed.

DiScuss: (always wanted to do that :) )
