Has there ever been an 'Unoriginal Soundtrack'?

I mean really, even when they're packed to the gills with 'classics' they're still called Original Soundtracks or OST.

Why the 'original'? And moreover, why do numpties who get CDs first insist on putting really odd tags in their MP3 databases so you can't find the fuckers when you've ripped them?
