Edinburgh's music scene

only_shallow [Edit] [Delete] 16:19, 3 September '06

OK so I'm at uni in St Andrews and just about to start my second year. Given that it has absolutely no music scene (seriously, we had two bands play our union during the whole of last year), I've been looking towards Edinburgh to provide me with my live music fix. However I've realised pretty quickly that all my favourite bands play Glasgow, which is pretty much impossible to get to without staying overnight (something I'd prefer to avoid). So can anyone tell me whether I'm missing something, or does Edinburgh really just have a piss poor music scene.

If it is the latter, that's incredibly frustrating as there are some lovely venues in the city - I mean, Queen's Hall is surely the most glorious mid-sized venue in the UK.
