Yo La Tengo Last Night

devonmalcolm [Edit] [Delete] 11:19, 6 September '06

Well yeah I went and apart from the fact it was 67 degrees c, it was very enjoyable.

Some of the new stuff sounded ace, especially when they opened with "The Story of Yo La Tengo", but then for some reason they turned into a Butlins band for a while. Really tacky programmed keyboards - the sort of thing I did when I was 7. This ruined some songs for me, especially 'Season of the Shark'.

On the flip side 'Deeper Into Movies' and 'I Heard you Looking' were among the best things I have ever heard in my life. No joke. So yeah the good stuff was awesome, but some of it almost made me laugh.

Also Stewart Lee was standing behind me. Maybe that's what was making me laugh.

Bloody hell I could have made a review out of this. It's almost as long as their set.
