haven't listened to it for ages. just gave it a spin and realised how much he was really taking the piss of lost highways demands for a poppy album that would be successful. practically every song is a pastiche of another band.

this is it = the strokes
shallow = oasis
1974 = stooges
so alive = u2
note to self: don't die = nirvana
rock n roll = replacements
anyone wanna take me home = the smiths

i used to hate it but its quite a decent album considering how quickly he did and how a lot of it is, as i said, kind of silly.
