lots of things piss me off about various music i dislike, but (alongside vocals/lyrics) a boring or pedestrian drummer will make it difficult for me to find the beauty within. likewise a good beat can make an otherwise pedestrian song.

So basically, who are youre guys favouritist drummers, whatever genre you like. Probably been done many times before i know. To start us off

from the jazz world (aka land of godly drummers) gotta give props to tony williams, billy cobham, bill summers, seb roachford.

Elsewhere we got (excuse the lack of research) drummers from the meters, hot rats period zappa, early period santana (+conga players), pavements 1st drummer, flaming lips drummer.
not forgrtting dave grohl, brian chippendale, can's jaki liebezeit & chris frantz. any suggestions?
