right, there's about a million of these, and they're all shit. You know the score, right? Take the greatest hits of a band, weave a tenuous plot linking them together, make money! At the moment, we've got Queen, Abba, Billy Joel, etc etc blah

So, how about some good bands? Here's my idea to start you off.

Range Life! (A Musical based on the Songs of Pavement)

A young boy, Kit, dreams of being a rock star. He decides the first thing he needs to do is look the part (CUT YOUR HAIR). He gathers his friends around him, forms a band. They hit the big time and their songs get on the radio (STEREO). They go on tour wth other bands then get disillusioned (RANGE LIFE). They all take drugs and fall out and the other band members hate him and quit (SILENCE KIT/HERE medley). Kit meets a girl and falls in love, and they decide that love is better than being in a band, and they get married and live happily ever after (SHADY LANE).
