on the way to work this morning, my all-wise MP3 player threw up a track from 'Amputechture' and then the opening track from 'Six'.

i was reminded of a review of 'Frances The Mute' that pointed out that the whole prog-indie thing had been done and done very well by Mansun on 'Six', the key difference being humour. I mean there are moments on 'Six' where you can hear them laughing at how ridiculous their music is.

by contrast, you can always hear the grim determination with which TMV bring what they think are tablets of fire down from the mountain.
