Reassessing old albums you didn't like...

kovacs [Edit] [Delete] 16:26, 8 October '06

and getting obsessed with them.

I put Deftones by the Deftones on earlier this week to see if it was as dull as I remember thinking it was when it was released, and I dunno if I was just feeling a lot more responsive to it or whether my taste's shifted a bit since then, but I've not stopped listening to it since. It might be my favourite Deftones album now, the whole second half of it, from When Girls Telephone Boys onwards, is non stop quality.

The same thing happened a few weeks ago when I decided to give Warnings/Promises by Idlewild another go, I realised that the disappointment I felt when that was first released that made me skim over it was a bit dumb, and it's actually a great album..

So, what other badly-received albums are there that deserve another go a year or two down the line?
