Something hit me, halfway through my slightly drunken dancing to Sao Paolo.

Something that's hit me about three or four times in my entire life of watching bands, in which I've been to more than 1,000 gigs and seen even more bands.

Sheer, unabashed, unadulterated joy. The kind that I am incapable of describing, containing or anything else.

Fyfe, Aristazabal, Magrao, Greig et al. Not only my band of the year, but moreso, one of my favourite bands in the world.

Eighteen months ago, they were playing for us at RoTa and tonight they seemed more comfortable than ever in front of 2,500 people at the Astoria.

Partly proud, partly excited, partly overjoyed, but still impressed. There aren't words.
