Hello from a cybercafe in Denver, Colorado. Didn't make any gigs here and leave for Chicago in about six hours. Hoping to see Bert Jansch, Kid Koala and Wolf Eyes in Chicago before moving onto Detroit, Washington and New York

Saw Islands in San Francisco and they were good. Saw Xiu Xiu in same venue the next night, last gig of their tour on their home turf, very good. Then went over to Oaklands on my last night to see Erase Errata, Kid 606 and two good local bands. The total cost of this, inc underground from San Francisco, admission and buying a double Jack Daniels for the singer of Erase Errata was about six quid. Old blues bar, original owner was a blues musician and had been tending the bar when his mistress, a blues singer, walked in and shot him dead where he stood. The soundman was a cool guy called Dan and thought the place was haunted by the late owner. Managed to get a lift back to San Francisco with Jenny Hoyston of Erase Errata and her flatmate Rob from a kindhearted car owning fan
