Album art...

I may get shot down for this, but I was wondering if anybody thinks album art has some kind of subconcious bearing on the way the album feels to listen to? Like, does the artwork have a direct influence on the kind of emotion and imagery that the music itself conjures up?

The reason why I ask this is because I've always thought that Four Tet's Everything Ecstatic conjures up all kinds of colours in my head when I'm listening to it. To me, it's always sounded like some kind of aural kaleidoscope. But then, this is the album artwork:

I may be reading too much into it. Is this just an obvious image/sound association thing?
