I'm listening to 'Storyteller' by the Razorcuts and there's out of tune singing on almost every song and yet it still sounds wonderful

Similarly Julian Cope's 'Fried' (probably my favourite album ever) has lots of out of tune singing, as do albums I love by Galaxie 500 and Spacemen 3

so, what's your fave out of tune album and is singing in tune overrated?
