Uk Rock, dead???

amputee-porn [Edit] [Delete] 22:41, 31 August '07

We've recently seen the splits of Adequate 7, Capdown, Cars as Weapons, Engerica, Kinesis, Million Dead, YCNI:M, etc. and await likewise from largely unnoticed bands like Reuben and Oceansize...

With Hundred Reasons, HIFH, Idlewild & Jetplane sinking into oblivion, and Biffy off being the Lostprophets - where is the UK rock? It seems as though the generation that were coming up after HR, etc. all packed in before their predecessors did.

With fewer big rock acts left for smaller bands to support, how can they get a foot on the touring ladder? A scene that was still varied and thriving upto a few years ago, now seems pretty much dead, no?
