Harry Merry in London

Panda_Bear [Edit] [Delete] 21:33, 5 September '07

Not sure if this is classed as a JAG or not, seeing as I am absolutely nothing to do with the guy, but he just sent out this Myspace bulletin....... which mentions some free gigs in London Town. http://www.myspace.com/harry9merry

I hereby would like to invite my London myspace-friends to the next two gigs I will give here in this exquisite city. I choose this bulletin-method because it is difficult to quickly find back the Londoners amongst you in between the pages of friends which action involves the all-too-familiar process of looking for needles in a haystack. I especially would like to invite the Indian lady whom I've forgotten the name of and whom I've met a few times before hereabouts and who also wrote me a message which I cannot find back anymore as I didn't write back quickly enough. These are small myspace-inconveniences which we are all acquainted with but which will not spoil the joy. Therefore I now copy and paste here for your convenience the precise details of my forthcoming two musical performances in London. Also many happy sunshine-wishes and holiday-greetings to my myspace-friends from elsewhere. You've got a lucky face!

06 Sep 2007, 21:00 - The Ivy House
40 Stuart Road
London, SE15 3BE
US
Cost: 0 Pounds
Location: Nunhead. The Ivy House isn’t your regular sort of pub. The well preserved front bar is a rare enough sight but it’s the large back room that really draws the breath. Few are the pubs with a stage; fewer still are those with a stage with gold lame curtains. It’s quite a sight: redolent of Nick Cave videos......

07 Sep 2007, 22:00 - Salisbury Hotel
1 Grand Parade Green Lanes
London, London and South East N4 1JX
UK
Cost: 0 Pounds
Tel: 02088009617 between the tube-stations Turnpike Lane & Manor House. Plenty of young people, particuarly for Haringey. This place rightly earns the title of ’gin palace’; this has that overdone London opulence that was so British high society back in those Victorian days. Extraordinary interior with over the top decoration that somehow work so well. It managed to survive the Wetherspoons sapping process that has swept over London’s better buildings. Standard drinking but they’ve got ales. Get a gin in here; its very much that sort of affair. Get me some good weed!
