Singles: there just ain't no way to win

oceanRain [Edit] [Delete] 20:12, 22 April '05
As an EATB fan I remember the only way to get some of the Bunnymen's best songs was by buying their singles (Angels & Devils, Way Out and Up We Go, Over My Shoulder). Which I didn't mind cos they were my favorite band; but for lesser acts, in my estimation, putting out quality songs only as singles was a pain in my arse. The only time I ever buy singles anymore is when they're sitting in the used bin for a buck. And that's rare.

Now I'm looking at the Pitchfork review of Interpol's new singles, which are basically a bunch of crap remixes, and thinking, What's the point?

I know most music buyers prefer to buying songs over albums. But I dunno. Seems like a load of worthless shite. What do you guys think of singles?
