The Beach Boys, The Byrds and Van Morrisson

- The Beach Boys
I bought a bestof yesterday in Fopp. I spotted a little sticker on the front saying 64-68. However, as I sat at home this afternoon listening to the few tracks from Pet Sounds, and Wouldn't It Be Nice ended, I was suddenly violated by a highly reverbed-drum, and a disgraceful 80s song called 'Getcha Back'.
It turns out the 64-68 thing was from a bonus DVD or something. So my Best Of is now, I discover, full of 70s and 80s songs that are in fact dreadful. I can't listen to them. How dare 60s bands like The Kinks and The Who carry on into these rubbish decades? It almost deletes their goodness from the 60s. Apart from with The Who, who've always been bad.

-The Byrds
I know they didn't write it, but 'Chimes of Freedom', at the start pretty much equals 'Brown Eyed Girl' doesn't it? Who ripped who off? Name and shame the culprit.
Anyway. I now own a Byrds best-of. I don't know which album to get though. I want one with Gene Clark on it though, please. Danke.
