Melody

grockle [Edit] [Delete] 20:44, 18 September '07

I just watched the NME chart show, up to the first advert, and found it most depressing. Think it was four bands I sat through- Dykeenies, Kaiser Chiefs Jack Penate, and something else, maybe with Cuban in the title.

The thing that really shocked me was the near total lack of melody. At least two of the songs had verses that are just the same note shouted, and whilst there's nothing wrong with that as such, there's too much of it about

SO (and here's the point of the thread), cheer me the fuck up. Anyone recommend current indie that is poppy and commercial, but has a MELODY (ie something that a football crowd COULDN'T shout) I'm starting to believe such thing doesn't exist
