If you see a band live and it is amazing, how soon after the event can you listen to the album?

I once saw Go! Team and thought it was ace, then put the album on the next morning and found it really disappointing. An experience I don't wish to repeat. It's rubbish to poison a great performance by listening to the album too soon afterwards.

I ask because I saw Metronomy at the end of Truck and they were immense; I now want to listen to the album, but I'm terrified it will ruin everything.

So... how long would you wait?
