One of the most underrated voices and brilliant songwriter to boot? A big mouth with something to back it up for once. I'm listening to his last album and there's a song on there he wrote for Roy Orbison (one of the most heartbreaking voices ever?) but he died before he recorded it and its over the toppingly brilliant like all pop should be. And of course let's not forget The Story of The Blues, possibly, quite possibly the 3rd best single of 1982 or something.
