Kim Wilde & Belinda Carlisle

The_Glory [Edit] [Delete] 19:01, 28 April '05
Horrendously underappreciated these two, I reckon. They made some cracking little pop records between the pair of 'em back in the day, and they were both dead sexy and voluptuous to boot.

Kim had a few dodgy singles (Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree with Mel Smith springs to mind) but Kids In America is a classic and You Keep Me Hanging On is not too shabby either, albeit a cover. Then there was the 1988 triple-whammy of You Came, Never Trust A Stranger and Four Letter Word.

1988 was also the year Belinda really burst onto the scene as a solo artist, with classic tracks like Heaven Is A Place On Earth, I Get Weak and Circle In The Sand. After that the hits dried-up a bit, but Leave A Light On, Runaway Horses and (We Want) The Same Thing were all quality pop tunes.

Any other '80s female pop singers you think deserve a bit more respect?
