The Pavement thread inspired me to try 'em. And yeah, they sound a lot like Pavement - Pavement with better drugs. Like the Stones when they were good. Small wonder, SM was in the band! But Starlight Walker (the album I've bought) is brilliant all on its own. And according to Pitchfork, American Waters is near perfect. They may be right.
