Shopping On A Budget
Maybe once, hopefully soon again... I can buy anything I feel like. But not just now. So I'd narrowed it down to five:
50 Ft Wave (I forget what their record's called)
Mountain Goats - Sunset Tree
Silver Jews - American Water
Manics - Holy Bible
Stars - whatever.
Stars get good reviews but every track sounds like the name of an emo-silly thread, so I'm naturally apprehensive. The Manics Holy Bible reissue is too much money just now, 'bout $30. Since there was only one copy of SJ's, and several copies of new MGs and 50 Ft Wave, I opted for American Water. More of a country twang than the Starlite Walker record I'd been raving about. Figured Virgin might carry the MG and was right. Virgin just charges so godamn much. Anyway, no one's heard of the Mountain Goats or 50 Ft Wave here so I figure I'm safe till I save a few more ducats.
