Looking at the really rather cool "make an 'introduction to' CD of your favourite band" thread, it occurred to me that I have never successfully made anybody like something I like via the medium of the mix tape.

In fact, a few times when I've made somebody an expertly crafted mix tape, they've gone 'meh', but then 6 months later got into the band anyway.

Has anyone had any success 'converting' their friends with a mix tape? Or is it just that people have to feel like they've discovered a band themselves? Like S-Club 7 said: "Find your own way to it"?
