NO REMOTE had some equipment stolen

the_amwel [Edit] [Delete] 14:57, 19 November '07

Last night, my band No Remote were due to play a show in a place called The Lock, Dock and Barrel in Leamington Spa. We were the last of five bands. We did not play.

Approximately ten minutes before we would have taken the stage (an hour later than we should have, I hasten to add) we discovered that some of our equipment had gone missing. After a thorough search of the entire premises and conversations with all of the other bands on the bill, we came to the conclusion that our gear had been stolen. We are unsure exactly how this happened and as the venue's CCTV was not recording, they are unable to shed any light on this either.

The stolen items were:

1 Black Yamaha AES 500 Guitar (in case) fitted with Seymour Duncan Zebra pickups. This guitar has a donkey sticker on the back. Serial number is QMP0189S

1 Wood finish Fender Jazz Bass Guitar with a Fender Precision neck. This was not in a case.

Both of these guitars are fairly distinctive (particularly the bass) and so we would ask anybody in Leamington and the surrounding area that reads this to keep your eyes and ears open in case someone is trying to offload these stolen goods. Chances are that the person (or persons) that took these instruments has little or no idea of their value and will be trying to get rid of them as quickly as possible. please tell your friends, tell people who work in music shops, tell people who work in pawnbrokers, tell anyone. If somebody tries to sell these guitars to you please call the police and quote crime number S/07/15826. Please also call Simon on 07939 584685 or Gareth on 07790 161549.

We are not rich rock stars. We are signed to a small label and all work day jobs as well as being in this band. We are midway through a tour and this has caused us great inconvenience. We do not have the money lying around to instantly replace guitars (assuming they were replaceable, which they aren't). We just want our gear back.

Gareth x
