the Band / Midlake

I've been meaning to check out both of these and see that members of both have new albums out.
Levon Helm from the Band has a solo album and Evan Jacobs from Midlake has released one by Tacks,The Boy Disaster.
Both have good reviews.
Any info, recommendations etc. on any of the above would be great.
