Flavor of the Day

oceanRain [Edit] [Delete] 19:18, 13 June '05
That isn't Oasis, Coldplay, U2 or I Hate The NME.

Mine:
The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs. OK, I was naturally tentative to buy this 3 disc set. Never mind it cost $41; it's three hours of love songs. That's enough to put off any self-proclaimed indie snob, eh?

Let me just say that if you like the idea of Leonard Cohen singing indie from a Left Bank Parisian cafe, then this record is for you. The love songs combine an eclectic mix of styles, from electonica to folk-pop, with a bittersweet humor. The amazing part is there isn't a weak track. Even indie snobs need the perfect romantic record and this is it. 9/10.

(Please give the uneducated American a one-liner on what your Flavor of the Day sounds like.)
