Hail! Perestroika

ma0sm [Edit] [Delete] 14:00, 3 April '08

A guy I used to be in a band with (Luke Fussell) has recorded a bunch of tracks under the moniker Hail! Perestroika. He was spending too much time playing around with various electronica software so decided to book a gig for one months time and write and record a bunch of songs in time for the gig.

I have to say, I'm genuinely flabbergasted when I heard the end results. The gig itself was a little sketchier (He may have had time to write and record the songs, but to sort out a decent live show in time also was secondary), but I recommend having a listen to the tracks.

Their on his myspace at:

What it sounds like? Well, a few of the artists he's gotten me into over the past few years are Death From Above 1979, Hot Chip, Russian Circles and Mr Hudson & The Library.

Also, considering the band I was in with him made music like this (http://www.sellaband.com/antiba) it's a bit of a departure from what we used to do.

I think technically this isn't a JAG since I have nothing whatsoever to do with the band or the music.

Just to be safe though, JAG!
