Blur - The Great Escape

dayvan_cowboy [Edit] [Delete] 18:21, 3 April '08

Im listening to it again after buying it on amazon after not listening to it in about 10 years previous, and ive never realised how dark this album actually is lyrically, if you actually listen to it.
The whole concept seems to be about loneliness which is pretty fucking sad but it all seems really obvious now.

Its ironic that musically its probably their most pop orientated. Possibly on par with Parklife on that front, and that the commercial hype it got when it was released. But the themes in most of the songs are quite dark and depressing.

Would you agree?
