Bands who can't get to gigs

glasso [Edit] [Delete] 12:58, 10 April '08

What is it with bands who can't do two simple things:
1. Get to a gig
2. Bring the equipment they need to a gig

For the second time in 10 gigs, it looks like an act we've booked isn't going to turn up.
She emailed us saying she might not be able to make it because she couldn't get a lift and the train is too expensive.

The train is £17 return, and we're paying her £70 for the gig...

Now she's not responding to emails, she's taken our flyer off her Myspace page and it looks as though we're a band down for the night on Saturday.

Since when has this sort of thing happened?

When I was in a band, we piled all our stuff into a Fiesta and drove ridiculous amounts of miles up and down the country to play for about £20....

Am I wrong to be really, really pissed off about this?

I'm not going to name her yet, because there's still a chance she might turn up, but if she doesn't I feel like telling all and sundry to never bother booking her again.

Shit. Rant over.
