Rolling Stone Magaizine

hip_young_gunslinger [Edit] [Delete] 13:56, 10 April '08

Was listening to a really interesting programme on Radio 4 this morning (the proper radio station of choice for the discerning indie fan) about Rolling Stone magazine, now 40 years old or something.

I've only picked it up a few times, but it felt a bit middle-aged now - its mix of the politics and the music may have been radical at first, but has it just descended, like its reader, into mild centre-left misty-eyed reverence for Bob Dylan and not much else? I read a brilliant essay the other day describing RS as perpetuating the ongoing commercialism of rock music in direct opposition to what it preaches...

Anyone out there read it? Like it? Hate it? I'd be interested to know.
