Wasn't sure how this was gonna go. Notoriously dreadful venue (neither Radiohead or Pulp could liven the place up for me previously) and the album has taken incredible perseverance but, man, the P'heads were rockin.
Lots of new stuff which the crowd seemed really into and a good sprinkling of Dummy and Portishead.
Intense it certainly was but it was an appreciative crowd and Beth and the boys were on very good form. Beautiful and edgy with only one track not cutting it (one of the new ones near the end, a quiet boring one).
And the band seemed to love it, Beth was gleeful!!!!!
Excellent excellent. Portishead are are unique.
