I had an idea...

Magazines should review albums a year after their release. It would make the reviews much more accurate if the journalist had been given a year to get into the album.
I'm not suggesting that journalist are assigned an album and given a year to listen to it, but coming up to a year after the release journalists could be contacted and assigned alums that they're aware of. It would need a lot of journalists at its disposal.
Reviews seem a bit pointless when journalists are given less than a week to write multiple reviews, however engaging or cohesive the reviewer.
For example, I would find it much easier to review albums released a year ago this month (Kings of Leon's Because of the Times, Bright Eyes's Cassadaga, Blonde Redhead's 23 and Arctic Monkeys's Favourite Worst Nightmare than Frank Turner and Cazals which I was given a week ago.
