there have been endless threads on users' favourite albums - of all time, by this band, by that band - and judging from the "How do you listen to your music?" thread, lots of people seem to listen to albums most, or all, of the time.

so, what's your favourite individual songs? the ones you can listen to free of albums, or when you hear a bit of the melody you just need to hear it immediately.

i've asked people this before and they say it's too difficult. for me, choosing a favourite song is quite easy. for an album to become a favourite, it needs to have 10/11/12/+ songs that are consistently great. but for a favourite song it's just a few (usually) minutes of musical bliss, and that can be quite simple to achieve. keeping it going for a whole album would be pretty difficult i think...
