has there been a stand out album this year? is one coming?

i only say so cos there were loads of brilliant albums last year (radiohead/arctic monkeys/cribs/justice/klaxons + more) and this year it doesnt seem so.

i also notice that the fratellis new song is absolute dirge, while (and i'm no fratellis fan) the singles off the last album were at least catchy. same goes for more mainstream "indie" bands. bit like what the stereophonics did back then (also NOT a fan).

please feel free to call me a dick and cuss my selections and nominate better albums but i just get that sinking feeling.
