Albums with iTunes-only bonus tracks - pretty shit? (Matmos)

restlessboy [Edit] [Delete] 21:54, 27 May '08

Seriously, how is this justifiable in any way? Just greed and elitism. Making you pay extra for shoddy DRM-addled bonus product.

I go into town on my day off. I think 'oh I'll get the new Matmos album'. I head across to Spillers so I'm giving my money to people I like rather than whichever high street retailer. Pay a very reasonable £9.49 for the cd then get home only to find that there are FOUR bonus tracks on the iTunes version (and the vinyl).

Net extra cost £3.10. Encoded at 128kbps - great for an audiophile elctronica album showcasing some unusual synths from around the world.

You expect this kind of shit from, I dunno, Linkin Park or something but not Matmos.

Album's excellent though, which only makes it worse.
