After that Amazon thread, I got thinking. When I were a lad, guitar music kicked fucking arse. In the space of about 4 years, we had stone cold classics; ATDI, QOTSA, Trail of Dead, XTRMNTR, PJ Harvey's Stories, Six by Seven, ATRiot, Idlewild, Mogwai, Shellac, Icarus Line...

WHERE DID IT ALL GO?

The last album (barring anything Falco related) that stuck a stick up my jacksie was DFA1979, but that was a long long while ago now.

Is it just that we're in a lull and there's some more coming? Or that I'm missing out on some people I should be checking out? Or maybe that indie is on it's knees right now and succumbing to the same stuttering death that manufactured pop did in the 90's, and it'll take everyone hating it again to create music of this potency?

Whatever. Help me people.
