Fight Like Apes

olliemorr [Edit] [Delete] 23:26, 30 May '08

Fight Like Apes are a brilliant, brilliant (yep, 2 of those) band from Dublin.
Soundwise think Devo / Mclusky / Stereolab / Deerhoof / Beta Band. Catchy as hell.
I caught them live for the second time the other day at Bristol Dot To Dot festival and they were ace. They're totally mental onstage. Offstage they're lovely as hell.

They're pretty much unknown over here in the UK, but peeps from Ireland may know of them (I'm Irish, but hadn't heard of them until I caught them supporting The Von Bondies a few months ago).
They've got a couple of EPs out, and I think their debut album is out a little later this year, which John Goodmanson of Bikini Kill, Sleater Kinney, Blood brothers, Death Cab for Cutie and Blonde Redhead fame is producing.

They're doing a few gigs in the UK at the moment , including some support slots with We Are Scientists.
So, um yeah, check them out. I' a bit addicted to them at the minute.
