Stranded on a desert island, no idea when you will be rescued, but you can have eight songs to soundtrack your stay. These are modern times, so let’s say you’ve got a solar powered iPod with you on there. The songs are really, in some way, supposed to reflect your life to date. You’re also allowed to take one book with you, and one luxury item (which has to be inanimate, and of not real ‘use’. So you couldn’t take a knife, you cheating fucks)

One of my favourite songs ever from one of my favourite singers ever, and the lyrics would be a nice reminder that out here on my desert island, I’m cut off from all the crap going on elsewhere

Best pop song ever recorded. This will never age

Beach Boys – Don’t Worry Baby
Originally written as a response to Be My Baby, and almost as sweet

The Smiths – There is a Light...
Again, one of the best songs ever recorded. Lyrically, I still find it amazing after a thousand listens
