Listening to album's you know nothing about (Peter Hammill-centric)

theguywithnousername [Edit] [Delete] 00:24, 30 June '08

A friend of mine emailed me Peter Hammill's "The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage", which sounds fucking brilliant so far (I've not yet listened to it in sequentilal order but the last track's amazing as are a couple of earlier tracks).

But it was really interesting listening to an album with absolutely no idea what I was going to be listening to and knowing next to nothing about the guy doing the album (I've never really listened to Van Der Graaf Generator and, in any case, didn't know he was in them until later). These days there's so much information online about artists that you usually know loads about even an obscure band before listening to their album.

So anyway, what was the last album you listened to and enjoyed without knowing anything about who made it?
