I've grown to hate talking about music to people, especially the whole 'indie' crowd. Every conversation i've had follows the same lines.

"you should listen to..." - like i've been stewing in my own musical incompetence untill some dick in a radiohead t-shirt generously offers me some dumb fucking band to save me.

"they're really intense, but really beautiful"/"they make pop songs but incorperate X elements in aswell" - always shit. everytime.

"i'll burn you a mix cd" - YOU ARE A WANKER GO AWAY.

Sometimes i get "just... just listen to them" in which case they're fucking worthless prog shit like mars volta. People need to start listening to themselves and realising they sound embarassing and that literally no one cares if they like bands that they haven't heard of.
