Similar voice, similar disjointed approach to songwriting etc.

I've met a few people here recently who all think Modest Mouse are miles better, but from what I've heard of Modest Mouse, I'd say that Built To Spill are miles better - just more interesting.

Is this simply a case of me not listening to enough Modest Mouse, and them not listening to enough Built To Spill, and they are actually more or less as good as each other?
