before anything is said, yes, he is the guy from the "True Dedication" Budweiser adverts. not to out-indie anyone, but i was aware of him before this - David Berman mentioned him in passing in an interview. see, i'm not unduly affected by beer commercials but give me an indie-rock legend and i'll jump at their orders.

anyhow, imagine Calvin Johnson covering The Fall, or maybe Mark E Smith covering Beat Happening - then, each respective band covering tunes from the songbooks of Englebert Humperdinck, The Righteous Brothers and Elvis.
