I am off to visit my little brother in Manchester in a week or so and I am very stoked indeed about this. But I don't know Manchester very well (and he's not as into his music as me) so I call upon your help:

1) What is the best independent record shop to frequent in Manchester (where I can actually get my hands on some vinyl)?

2) Are there any good gigs that anyone knows of / is going to on the 19th or 20th of this month in Manchester?
