According to a recent Drowned in Sound article, it was one of the greatest festivals of all time, so I decided to look up the line-up. If by "greatest", Gareth Dobson actually meant "funniest", I guess I'd have to agree:

I think definite highlights were Cast -> Dodgy -> Ocean Colour Scene in main support of Radiohead, and Sheryl Crow -> Van Morrison -> Sting -> Kula Shaker (replaced Neil Young).
