Europe’s Obsession with Oasis.

freezingthecat [Edit] [Delete] 15:49, 12 August '08

Please explain the obsession with Oasis. As an American, Oasis was primarily considered a Beatles rip-off here in the states. Also, Nirvana and the Seattle Sound took over a lot of what was happening in the UK at the time so perhaps that overshadowed the band. What kind of credibility do they have, overall, with the indie crowd. For example, although Radiohead is not indie, they are accepted by everyone. Is that the general consensus for Oasis in Europe as well? Discuss.
