REM at LCC

WOWOWOW!

So, so, so good.

What a set: These Days, Pretty Persuasion, Seven Chinese Brothers, Orange Crush, Drive, Fall On Me, plus all the later classics for good measure. An amazing semi-acoustic version of Let Me In and odd choices of Ignoreland and So Fast, So Numb were great surprises.

Michael's voice was the best I've heard from the four times I've seen em, and for the first 15 minutes it was like he was on speed, even pulling off robot moves to a startled looking Mike Mills.

Peter Buck now looks about 84 - but still high kicks with the best of em.

Only let down was Michael's 'this is a special song, we've not played it very many times and not rehearsed it' - to which me and my mates took a sharp in take of breath awaiting a rare classic - only for them to play Mr Richards off the new LP - GUTTED!

Anyhoo, incredible gig, my throat is ruined, think I sang every word.
